While gene-infiltration techniques with agrobacterium tumefaciens are coming of age after thirty years, novel molecular biological methods emerge. These allow plant engineering with yet unknown surgical precision avoiding imprecisions and undesired mutations caused by radioactive irradiation. New genome editing are said to speed up crop development to market, but how? How do companies cope with licensing restrictions of applications?
